As we approach the dog days of summer and the beginning of fall, there is still time to seek refreshing local produce and check out the local Algonquin pop-up farmers market. Most markets will run through September, and the Algonquin pop-up farmers market runs through October 31st.
Farmers markets are a great way to support local businesses. You can be sure to know where your food came from and that your money is going back into the community. Check out our list of three local markets!
Algonquin Pop-Up Farmers Market
301 S Main St, Algonquin, IL 60102
When: Sundays 9 am – 3 pm
Where: In front of River Bottom Ice Cream Co.
This unique, local farmers market is just out in front of the ice cream shop in downtown Algonquin. It happens at the intersection of Main and Washington Street and will run through October 31st – Halloween! Come check out local produce and stop to get some of the best homemade ice cream in Algonquin.
Crystal Lake Farmers Market
Depot Park, Crystal Lake, IL 60014
When: Saturdays through September 25th, 8 am – 1 pm
Where: Depot Park next to the Downtown Train Depot
Come check out our neighbors and their Farmers Market in Crystal Lake. They have a historic downtown area to explore, beautifully landscaped streets, and tons of downtown restaurants to eat. Make a day of it and explore the heart of Cyrstal Lake! The market features a ton of vendors, from bread and baked goods to sweet treats to olive oils, flowers, honey, and of course fresh fruits and vegetables.
Cary Farmers Market
100 West Main Street Cary, IL 60013
When: Sundays 9 am – 1 pm through September
Where: Cary Train Station
another neighbor, Cary hosts a Farmers Market every Sunday through the end of September on Sundays. Cheese, jams, granolas, and fresh produce are just a few of the items featured. This one is also in downtown Cary, and there are other things to do around the train depot.
